Being pushed out:

I can now understand far more clearly what was happening to me back in 1978 when I felt I was being pushed out. For years, I had been closing in on what the ego is. As this process of ego was being observed it was becoming increasingly more difficult to avoid the facts of what the ego was. Subconsciously the mind was going through a transformation; the ego was becoming transparent. It was being cornered and becoming far more difficult to function. Then when it reached the point of no return, the feeling of being pushed out started. The mind had reached a crisis and could not deal with the mind games the ego was playing. During the three days leading up to the Awakening the mind was trying to hold on. It felt its impending doom. By the questioning going on ever deeper, it forced the activity of the ego process to a standstill. At that point, the whole process broke down and Reality was clearly seen.

This is what I try to help people see: the process of ego without the distortion of religion, spirituality or any other mind created system. It is a direct seeing of what is going on from moment to moment.

When one comes to see clearly how the ego process works, it frees the mind from all the silly games we have been playing in the name of Enlightenment. With this new freedom, one can go far deeper into who and what we are. This freedom can open the mind to look into other areas of our lives, which will bring us that much closer to a real transformation of consciousness. This transformation is the only thing that can save us from our own self-destructive nature. There is a great responsibility in all this: either we change and grow, or we die. That may sound overly dramatic but it is the truth.
